The story
The Matobo Genesis is the first collection from Santa Clara Bikes. Inspired by Zimbabwe's Matobo Hills and handcrafted in Portugal, Genesis is a one-time series of just ten individually numbered steel frames.
Every Opus combines timeless craftsmanship with modern adventure capability, celebrating the landscapes, flora and stories that shaped my childhood.
Only these ten frames will ever bear the Genesis name.
While every Santa Clara frame is built to the same uncompromising standard, the Matobo Genesis celebrates something more: the beginning of our story.
The build
Handbuilt from Reynolds 725 steel and paired with a premium full-carbon fork, the Genesis is designed for riders who value comfort, confidence and versatility.
With clearance for tyres up to 50 mm, it feels equally at home on quiet roads, gravel tracks and multi-day adventures.
We deliberately chose external cable routing to make the frame easier to service and maintain for a lifetime of riding. The Genesis is compatible with both mechanical and wireless electronic groupsets, as well as 1× and 2× drivetrains.

Each frame is individually numbered Opus 01–10 and finished in one of ten exclusive colourways, each inspired by a tree or flower native to Zimbabwe.

Every Genesis frame includes:
- Individually numbered Opus designation

- Builder’s signature
- Keith Noronha’s signature, CEO of Reynolds Technology
- Original four-bar violin motif, composed and recorded exclusively for the collection
- Signed certificate of authenticity
